History

The Scripture Studies Institute (SSI) was originally founded under the leadership of Robert & Jenn McDuffie in 2011 in South Africa.  The first and original Yeshiva of SSI was opened in Vosloorus, South Africa around May 2011 and ran for 4 months consistently until the students graduated.

Robert & Jenn McDuffie received the call to come to Zambia in the late part of 2011.  At the time they were serving with another ministry who carries a similar model of SSI.  After serving for 90 days in Zambia in 2012, they left the Yeshiva in the Jack Compound of Lusaka under the directorship of the Pastor who originally invited them to come to Zambia.

Upon returning to South Africa where they were living and based from 2010-2013, they soon discovered that the original director had many grievous sins that were exposed and they were left seeking YHWH to determine who would be best to lead the Yeshiva.

After praying, they invited Rabbi Banda to become director and he willingly accepted the position and brought along Rabbi Chiluba to co-direct with him.

The 2 faithful servants have shared the truth that they are continuously learning as they have a heart to serve YHWH, His people and share His truth with great zeal and passion.

SSI originally began with one local informal Yeshiva in Jack Compound and has grown to 3 local, informal Yeshiva’s throughout Lusaka and has recently expanded to the Copperbelt Region (Kitwe) and Livingstone.

In the year of 2016, Rabbi Banda and Rabbi Chiluba were requested to join a team of other delegates in order to officiate the beginning planning stages of offering formal educational opportunities within the country of Zambia located in the city capital of Lusaka.

With the blessing of Robert & Jenn, they began to pursue this avenue.  Robert & Jenn have vowed to continue to carry the informal Yeshiva’s.  SSI desires to offer informal learning at low or no cost giving students the opportunity to earn certificates for their level of studies.
